The Love of My Life by Rosie Walsh- Book Review

Image
This was my first book by Rosie Walsh, and it didn't disappoint! Book Club pick and I thought it was great. I couldn't put this book down. As soon as I finished I immediately added her book, Ghosted, to my wishlist. The Love Of My Life explores the lives of Emma and Leo. They have a happy marriage of ten years, a darling daughter, and ... secrets. So many secrets. And Emma is at the root of all of them.

Verity by Colleen Hoover- Book Review

This is November's pick for The Well-Read Friends Book Club. Woah, this was  so messed up . It should really come with a warning label. For two reasons, actually. One, it is so compulsively readable that it's almost impossible to put it down until you've finished it. And two, it is seriously creepy and disturbing. Warnings for depictions of child abuse and some graphic violence. Perhaps this doesn't need to be said, but  Verity  is definitely not a regular Colleen Hoover romance. There's a love story, and sex, but it is predominantly a creepy thriller. And a mindfuck, if we're being honest. Highly recommend getting the new Collector's Edition with the new chapter.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

This was The Well-Read Friends Book Club pick for October. ”Evelyn always leaves you hoping you’ll get just a little bit more. And she always denies you.” This book was so, so, so  GOOD!!  I swear I was barely two pages in and already knew that I’d love it with all my heart! The last 200 pages were mind-blowing and I could not put it down.  It is a favorite of the year, and it will be a favorite of all time. I am wholly enchanted by  The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo  and I will never forget how much I adore this book.

Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover- Book Review

Image
“She’s nothing I’ve ever wanted… And absolutely everything I need.” This was a fun, sexy surprise treat from Colleen Hoover giving fans of Maybe Someday a look into the love, pranks, and general hilarity of Warren’s life as he falls for the last girl he ever thought he could love. While you can certainly read this spin-off novella on its own, I personally would highly recommend reading Maybe Someday first.

Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover- Book Review

Image
Once again, Colleen Hoover has delivered an emotionally charged masterpiece that will capture your heart! Maybe Someday is not your typical romance but I promise you, it is one of the most deeply passionate and uniquely beautiful books I have ever read. Pure perfection! 5++ stars!! “I never realized how powerful desire could be. It consumes every part of you, enhancing your senses by a million. When you’re in the moment… all you can do is focus on the person in front of you.”

Book Review-Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Image
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her. Never ask about the past. Don’t expect a future. They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all. Hearts get infiltrated. Promises get broken. Rules get shattered. Love gets ugly. My comments: Colleen Hoover is a new favorite author of mine. Not that I ever doubted her, but I didn’t know what to expect when starting Ugly Love. It’s safe to say she never disappoints. With her amazing writing style, fascinating characters, and original ...

The Words We Whisper- Book Review

Image
***Book Review*** The Words We Whisper by Mary Ellen Taylor Excellent historical fiction that will warm your soul. This is the first book that I read from this author and it won't be my last! It is told in dual timelines, Rome, Italy 1943-1944, and the present day. This is a story of survival, hope, and family ties. It was eloquently written and I admit that I was emotional at the end. The Words We Whisper is an outstanding story. It’s the kind of book that makes you want to snuggle up under the blanket with a cup of tea and read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were vivid and captivating. When the book brought you into the past of Italy, I almost felt like I was right there with them. The story is wonderful, warm, and courageous. Highly recommend “Nothing ever ends as we would expect.” #bookreview #bookrecommendations #thewordsweshisper #bookclub #bookstagram #books
